Windows 7 had many improvements from the previous OS Vista. Windows 7 improved its build-in disk defragmentation utility; the new build in disk utility now supports multiple disks defragments simultaneously,
One nice update to the Disk Defragmenter feature in Windows 7 is that you can now schedule as many drives as you’d like to defragment at the same time. In previous versions of Windows, you’d have to wait for one drive to finish before you began defragmenting another drive
- Click on “Start” button open the “All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Disk Defragmenter
- Click on the button “Select Volumes…” to open Disk Defragmenter Advanced Options.
- Check the box “(Select All Disks)” or check boxes against those hard drives you want to defragment. Click “OK” to close the Advanced Options window.
- Click the “Defragment Now” button and then “OK” to confirm. Defragmentation may take some time to complete.
Thanks for the info. Looks like your have quite the Windows 7 knowledge.
When I decide to bring all my machines from Vista to 7, I’ll have to reread some of these!
Thank you for the information. I usually don’t use inbuilt disk defragmentor as it is very slow. Auslogic is really good application for this purpose.
