With the influx of internet source for entertainment, even television has become obsolete to a certain extent. There are so many applications that allow users to watch movies even without the physical television set. Boxee is an example application where you can download, browse and watch movies, listen to music and save images from the movies without the actual TV.

What’s exciting about Boxee is the multi-faceted features that come along with it. Though the application seemed very simple, once downloaded, you get access to thousands of movies on the internet. Some even are the latest releases on big screen movie houses. The process is simple and very convenient. You don’t need a torrent or any downloading sites to actually download the movies. Boxee offers this feature where you can directly browse over which movie you want. You will also have the option to actually watch the movie directly or download it and save in your touchpad or laptop.

Boxee can be used in either an external hard drive or directly in your laptop or netbook, giving you more convenience and redefining TV entertainment. Boxee has direct access from different streaming websites such as Netflix, Pandora, and flickr, and more, giving the user convenience rather than spending time transferring from one site to another. Boxee is also linked with social networking sites, which allows you to share the link of your favorite movies to facebook, twitter and more. Giving you and your friends an updated day to day movie screening.

But because of its’ reliability to the internet, boxee can sometimes experience technical glitches. With the amount of speed you need for downloading, or even just watching the movies, it takes time, even longer than YouTube, to process. So you would really need a high speed internet connection to really appreciate the features of Boxee.

Also, there is no guarantee in Boxee that you can screen all your favorite movies. Because of its’ limited source, it might not support the movie format for your favorite show. There is no converting process where you can change the movie format. In this case, you would really need to find a movie that is supported with the format for Boxee. Mostly, movies in the streaming sites are the ones you can guarantee. But other than that, you might need to find other more reliable software like torrent or azureus.

But what’s good about Boxee, unlike in torrent, azureus or vuze, is that boxee is an open source software. It’s free but is guaranteed with the quality of movies uploaded. In torrent or in vuze, you might download a movie that is pirated from another source. In boxee, you are guaranteed with high definition and quality movies.

So, if you’re a movie addict, getting yourself a free Boxee software is very much ideal for your entertainment desires. Compliment your downloading spree with direct access on different live streaming sites and complete browsing capacity on links related to Boxee. Download now for free and experience TV entertainment with a twist.
